The Growing Up Guide For Teens

I knew my son had questions about puberty, but every time I tried to bring it up, he shut down. I left the boys’ guide in his room and let him discover it himself. It gave him a way to understand what he’s going through without an awkward lecture from me.

My daughter was becoming more private and asking fewer questions as she got older. I wanted her to have good information before turning to social media or friends. This guide covers body changes, confidence, friendships, boundaries, and so many things I want her to understand.

I expected it to mainly explain body changes, but it goes much further. It talks about emotions, peer pressure, friendships, confidence, boundaries, and making good choices. Those are exactly the things my son is beginning to deal with now.

What I love most is that my daughter doesn’t have to ask every sensitive question out loud. She can read privately and come to me when she’s ready. It has made these conversations feel much more natural instead of something I have to force.

At this age, kids hear so much from friends, social media, and the internet. I didn’t want those to be my son’s main sources of information. Giving him this book made me feel better knowing clear, age-appropriate answers were already within reach.

The sections about confidence, friendships, attention from others, and knowing when something makes you uncomfortable really stood out to me. I want my daughter to grow up knowing she can respect others while still protecting herself and staying true to who she is.

As a parent, you want to have all the right words, but sometimes you simply don’t. Having both guides at home gives my kids somewhere to start when they’re confused or embarrassed. I can still be there for them without having to turn every sensitive subject into a lecture.
